The first bus manufactured on the industrial area U.C.M. Reşiţa
ROmCAR is a Romanian Company, registered at the Register of Commerce on February 2005, with entirely Romanian capital. All products of the Company are checked and homologated by the Romanian Auto Register. However, these results were possible only due to the very good collaboration between RomCAR and U.C.M. Reşiţa, a well known company in the field of machine building that is also a shareholder of the factory, but also with the Russian Group RusAutoProm from which all licenses for bus manufacture were obtained. ROmCAR is estimating a sales figure of 150 units for the year 2006. The trend will be ascending, following that for 2007 it will be reached a sales figure of 500 units and for 2008 of 700 units. Thus, in less than two years, it is forecast an increase of about 370%. The turnover will increase until 2008 to over 70 millions EURO.
The total investment in building the factory has reached to about 5 millions EURO, the total surface of the factory being of 1ha, including the industrial areas. This year, the range of products will consist on four model of buses: two models of city bus and two models of intercity bus. With a team that will reach over 300 employees, ROmCAR Russian Buses Productions asses a production capacity of 700 buses per year.
In the factory from Reşiţa was already fabricated the first Romania intercity bus, under ROBUS trademark, registered at OSIM on national and international level, based on a Russian Liaz license. This is a product manufactured entirely in Romania having a better design and being even better than the one of the country of origin. Also, in Reşiţa has started the production of a short type city bus, with low floor on 2/3 of the length of the bus, ideal for small cities with narrow streets, having a total capacity of 55 passengers, out of which 24 places are on seat. Soon, will start also the production of a long type city bus with low floor on the entire length of the bus, having a total capacity of 115 passengers, out of which 24 places are on seat. Both variants comply with the European Standards, including those referring easy access in the bus of persons having locomotor problems.
