Ongoing projects in the Research Design Department
The Research Design Department accomplishes functional and constructive development of equipments in hydroelectric field from the product portofolio of U.C.M. Resita It focuses the creative forces of over 160 collaborators, in three departments (Research Department, Hydraulic Machines and Auxiliary Equipment Design Department, Electric Machines Design Department) and one workshop (workshop for models, prototypes and microproduction).
In the last years, a number of projects represented the starting point for upgradings and rehabilitations of equipments delivered by U.C.M. Resita during the years, as well as hydro power units for new facilities both in Romania and abroad.
Among the rehabilitation and upgrading projects are the ones for HPP Raureni, Zavideni, Tismana (HA1), Turnu, Slatina, Subcetate, etc. What projects for new HPP are concerned, worth mentioning are equipments for HPP Poiana Teiului (S.H. Bistrita Piatra Neamt) and HEPP Cine (Turkey), for HPP Someshwara (India). Projects that must not be left out are valves for export, manufactured after our own designs: butterfly valves for Mercan (Turkey), Otaki (Japan), Marsiangdi (Nepal), Dychow (Poland), Bao Shan (Taiwan), hollow jet valves and slide cut-off valves for Renun and Wonorejo (Indonesia),Bao Shan (Taiwan), Taham Dam (Iran), needle valves for Taham Dam (Iran), cut-off jet valves and follower-ring valves for Bao Shan (Taiwan). The specialists from R.D.D. designed also the electric motors, intended for Thomassen (The Netherlands).
