UCM Resita, Main Supplier of Equipments for the First Automation Hydro Power Plant in Romania
UCM Resita was the main supplier of equipments for the Hydroelectric Power Plant "Raul Alb", recently inaugurated at Fenes place, Armenis village in Caras - Severin County, the first power plant entirely automation, a project developed by Hidroelectrica, with an investment of over 18 millions Euro.
Some of UCM Resita achievements, related to this objective, are: the cut-off plate, enclosed in a housing, and the Lemon valve for Poiana Rusca Dam, the butterfly valve for the pressure point, the spherical valve, the control system, the static excitation system with electrical braking, the hydraulic turbine and the vertical hydro generator for "Raul Alb" Power Plant.
On the other hand, the experts from UCM Resita are those that have put into service the main equipments manufactured for the Hydroelectric Power Plant "Raul Alb".
UCM Resita had as main subcontractor in this project the company HYDRO ENGINEERING, for the design activities but also as provider of technical assistance and support.
The Hydroelectric Power Plant "Raul Alb" consists of two hydro units with Francis turbines, having an installed capacity of 20 Megawatts each. At this moment, the power plant generates, on an average, 71,4 GWh/year.
