Respecting Nature
In order to comply with the laws in force regarding the environmental protection and with the requirements of EU regarding the prevention and the control of possible pollution due to production activities, U.C.M. Resita decided to design and manufacture an automatic neutralization station for industrial waste-waters. This station will serve the entire electro-chemical plating system - Heat Treatment Production Centre 430 within the industrial area ABC. The design created by S.C. CAST S.A. Bucuresti was approved by the Local Authority for Environmental Protection and Water Utilization.
One of the main issues took into account when choosing the technical solutions was having a neutralization station able to provide optimal service. The station is working in full automatic condition with self-monitoring and self-diagnosis for the entire plant operation. The projected was completed in September this year and its total value was over 1 billion ROL. This station replaced the old "Neutralisation plant" which was technically and morally obsolete, being put out of operation and set aside.
This investment represents only the first stage of an environmental protection program developed by U.C.M. Resita. "The majority shareholder (of U.C.M. Resita) is focused on the environment protection, therefore according to the investment program for the next five years, around seven million Euro, will be allotted to environment protection projects" states Mr. Adrian Chebutiu, President - CEO of U.C.M. Resita.
