ucmr.ro - Dear Mr. Director Mircea BOLOVEDEA, in a previous edition of the periodical MESAGERUL we've discussed about a strong process of refurbishment that will be developed in UCM Reșița at Câlnicel Assembling Bay. Can you tell us what's new from our last discussion?
Mircea BOLOVEDEA - Technical Director of UCM Resita - The shot blasting chamber I was told you about was commissioned. These are good news, as we speak about a modern chamber provided with a recovery system and a spiral conveyor that carries the shots from the shot blasting place to the storage hopper. The facility is equipped with two portable blasting devices provided with filters which collect the dust from the room in an outer storage hopper. Also, it is provided a disc-bowl centrifuge that makes the selection between the whole shots and the shots burst during the process. The blasting chamber has 14m length, 7m width an 6m height. The chamber was entirely refurbished, inside proofed, and provided with lighting equipment.
ucmr.ro - In this case, beside the devices existent in this blasting chamber, it is more likely that the workers operating them need special protective equipment and accessories specific to this kind of modern blasting process?
M.B. - Certainly, the people are wearing modern working equipment, cotton jacket, protective helmet and dust filter masks. I would also like to state that at the painting booth, the works are still in progress with the company that has delivered the equipments and, hopefully, in October 2007 this will be put into service.
ucmr.ro - To conclude, what is the significance of these equipments for UCM Reșița?
M.B. - These two equipments purchased for Câlnicel Industrial Area helps in increasing the efficiency with more that 25% in the sectors in which they are located, by a substantial improvement of the technical process and a shorter manufacturing period.
