UCM Energy represents one of the companies within UCM Resita group of companies, an entirely private capital company; its services being intended for domestic and industrial users of electric power.

For better understanding the purpose and the range of activity of this company we discussed with the one that leads UCM Energy from its incorporation till now, Melania NICOLAESCU.

ucmresita.com: Melania, please tell us some words about the beginnings of UCM Energy, let's make a brief presentation of the company lead by you.

Melania Nicolaescu: UCM Energy started as electric power supply company in June 2005 and became actual supplier in December same year. For the activity of distribution and supply of electric power, UCM Energy, obtained and holds presently two licenses from the National Agency of Regulation in the Energy Field: A.N.R.E. License No. 682/13.07.2005 for the supply of electric power to eligible end users and A.N.R.E. License Nr. 743/8.06.2006 for the electricity supply to eligible end users.

The first customer for which UCM Energy supplied electric power was of course the parent company UCM Resita. It must be stated that as supplier of electric power, UCM Energy provides the following services: transportation; market administration; operational and engineering system services; electricity supply; monitoring and management of contracts; advisory services in the field of energetic efficiency.

ucmresita.com: Please, speak about the customers with which UCM Energy succeeded to conclude contracts.

M. Nicolaescu: UCM Energy developed its portfolio of customers having over 10 customers within Romania, in what we call the supply activity. As concerns the electricity supply, UCM Energy has 5 customers with real possibilities of extension in Mociur industrial area.

ucmresita.com: We understood that UCM Energy is also an active member in some of the most well known Electric Power National Associations. Can you confirm this?

M. Nicolaescu: Of course. UCM Energy is the founder of the National Association of Electric Power Suppliers - ANFE and active member in the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council, CNR - CME. This thing honors and binds us at the same time.

ucmresita.com: Is it intended for the company that you lead a development of the activity object?

M. Nicolaescu: Besides those two current activities, for which the company is already certified, UCM Energy is in progress of obtaining from A.N.R.E. three certificates that will provide the possibility to design and perform interior wirings for civil and industrial buildings, aerial or underground service leads of voltage rating 0,4 kV, open or underground power lines with voltage rating from 0,4 kV to 20 kV, substations with voltage rating at the most 20 kV, also tests on electro-power equipments and units.

ucmresita.com: Let's talk a little bit about the company's employees.

M. Nicolaescu: The company makes available for the customers the practical experience of a professional team consisting of 50 persons. The organization chart is continuously expanding, developing new services adapted to the requirements stated by the companies within Romania.

ucmresita.com: How were the actual employees co-opted to UCM Energy?

M. Nicolaescu: We start at the beginning with four people. Then, it followed the developing process of the company and 46 people have been co-opted from the Energetic Department of UCM Resita, witnessing thus to a successful outsourcing process, not affecting in any way the employees by this change in the organization structure.

ucmresita.com: Did you have in mind a certain profile for the employee by the time you recruited the personnel, or better said which is the profile of an employee is for Melania NICOLAESCU, synthesized in several words?

M. Nicolaescu: For me the employee must be responsible, honest, conscious minded and intelligent.
