U.C.M. Resita has completed last week the rehabilitation of the three electric motors MAS 5.25-4 of 5200 KW, for Unit 2, Cernavoda Power Plant. The rehabilitation contract was signed at the end of August 2004, after winning the auction organized by Nuclerelectrica, where U.C.M. Resita competed with GENRAL TURBO BUCURESTI, the company which produced these motors back in 1995. The rehabilitation was necessary because both the insulation class and the electric parameters did not allow these machines to fit in the nuclear power plant.
The established delivery times were very tight: December 2004 - for the first motor, January 2005 - for the second one and February 2005 - for the third one. The delivery times have been totally accurate, the last motor being taken over by the customer on 24.02.05, after performing the homologation tests on U.C.M. Resita's test stand. A group of experts- consultants from the Romanian Academy - Timisoara Branch attended the tests.
